Programs

The branch’s programs for 2024-2025 include five local membership meetings, multi-branch events, a joint meeting with the AAUW Northern District, regional and state conferences, and our traditional holiday luncheon and end-of-season luncheon in the spring. The theme for our speakers’ program for the current year is “Women Lead the Way.”

Sunday, September 15, 2024 – 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Branch Meeting with presentation: Gender, Women and Politics: Where Are We Now?
Speakers: Kathleen Chesnutt, program officer at the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and MacKazenie Bills, former candidate for the Iowa State House.

Additionally, two local high school students were recognized at the event for receiving the following STEM Achievement Awards:

Health Policy Forum Panel Discussion: Exploring Policy Options to Support the Health, Safety, and Well-Being of Healthcare Workers. All are invited to a 4:30 p.m. reception.
Location: George Mason University College of Public Health

Invitation to Falls Church Area Branch Presentation on documentary Join or Die.
Preview Join or Die, via evite a few days before the presentation, which will feature the two directors for a discussion followed by Q&A.
