STEM Achievement Awards

The McLean Area Branch has partnered with counselors at local High Schools for the last nine years to award STEM Achievement Awards to female students finishing their junior year. In 2021 the program was expanded to include a Computer Science Achievement Award, in addition to awards for Math and Science. These awards, which are made possible through the branch’s fundraising efforts, consist of a certificate and a check for $100 for each honoree. The branch instituted the awards to encourage young women to pursue educational opportunities related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
